The
Boardwalk Art Show & Festival has grown to be one of Virginia Beach and the Commonwealth’s most highly anticipated events. With more than 350,000 visitors and $2 million in art sales annually, the Boardwalk Art Show & Festival is ranked among the top
50 best fine art & design shows in the nation by Sunshine artist magazine. In 2008, prize money for artist awards reached over $30,000. The Virginia Beach Hotel Motel Association Best-in-Show Award of $10,000 remains the second largest best-in-show award in the nation, attracting high-caliber artists and art collectors anxious to find unique, one-of-kind works.
Each year Virginia Beach celebrates the end of summer with the Virginia Beach Neptune
Festival. The month-long festivities culminate on Boardwalk Weekend, which is the last weekend in September. Live music, great food, fun and laughter abound as we say farewell to another great sunny season…Virginia Beach style. With so many fun things to see and do, it’s no wonder that Virginia Beach’s Neptune Festival has been voted one of the top 100 festivals in the United States and one of the top 10 on the East Coast.
Pungo Strawberry Festival (Memorial Day weekend)
All the strawberries you can eat prepared in over 50 different ways is the festival highlight, but activities also include a pie-eating contest, several racing car exhibits, one of the largest carnivals on the East Coast, continuous entertainment on four stages, a parade, livestock sale and show, a military display, pig races, youth art show, and some of the most unique arts and crafts exhibited on the East Coast. At the intersection of Princess Anne and Indian River Roads.
