Beach Police Investigate Deadly Stabbing

The victim has been identified as Leon L. Hymons II, 23, a Virginia Beach resident.

Detectives have identified the suspect as Terrence D. Henderson, 29; last known to live in the City of Norfolk.  A Murder warrant is on file for the Northampton Boulevard incident.

On Friday, June 1, 2012, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the parking lot in the 5800 block of Northampton Boulevard.


When the officers arrived, they located the victim lying on the ground near his car suffering from what appeared to be a puncture wound.  They administered first aid until EMS personnel arrived and transported the victim to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he later died.


The victim has not been identified pending notification of family members.


The suspect(s) is a black male, approximately 5’-11,” average build, with short dreadlocks, possibly in his late 20s or early 30s, and wearing cargo pants and a dark shirt.  The suspect was seen running away with a second person described as a white male wearing tan pants and a dark blue shirt.

This case remains under investigation by the Department’s Homicide Squad with Detectives Ray Pickell and Sean Coerse as the lead investigators.
