Salute Our Military Heroes at Friday Free for All: Patriotic Concert

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation invites you to the fifth and final installment of the summer event series Friday Free for All, a collection of family-friendly movie nights and concerts in the park complete with themed games, activities, music and fun for everyone! Join us Friday, September 16 for a Patriotic Concert at Mount Trashmore Park.

Celebrate our military heroes with this rockin’ military salute while enjoying the sunset over Lake Trashmore. The Blue Aces Ensemble of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band will entertain the festive crowd with their fast-paced performances and variety of musical styles. The Blue Aces have performed for military and civilian dignitaries including the President of the United States, our warrior airmen and joint-combined forces deployed in support of the Global War on Terror. Band members include Master Sgt. Kenny Maurais (NCOIC), bassist; Master Sgt. Ron Johnson, drummer; Technical Sgt. Nico Ellison, vocalist; Technical Sgt. Paul Mezzanotte, guitarist; Staff Sgt. Kelcey McDonald, audio engineer; Senior Airman Amy L. Chicavich, vocalist; and Senior Airman Les Fowler, pianist.

The concert begins at 6 p.m. and food will be available for purchase. Fireworks will light up the sky at 8:30 p.m. (rescheduled from July 4).
