Police Looking for Impersonator

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who is impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer.  There were two incidents since April 30 where two women have been stopped by a white male suspect between the ages of 30 to 40.  He was driving a white car possibly a Ford with dark tinted windows and a single blue strobe light.  The suspect “acts” as if he’s a police officer and states he is doing checks such as driver’s license, registrations, etc.  Police recommend if you don’t feel comfortable stopping, drive to a safer environment.  If you are on a dark or secluded roadway, drive to a lighted area or a business such as a convenience store.  Also, you can call 911 on your cell phone and have the dispatcher verify the stop.

If you have any information on this case, please contact the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 1-888-Lock-U-Up or text the word “VBTIP” along with the tip to 274637 (CRIMES).  You never have to give your name or appear in court and you can earn cash rewards of up to $1,000.
