Patrons of Seatack Recreation Center’s swimming pool, located at 141 S. Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach, are advised that pool renovations will begin August 22, 2011. While there is no definite time frame to modernize Seatack Recreation Center, which opened in 1997, maintenance will be completed to extend the life of the pool facility:

  • The fiberglass pool shell will be replaced.
  • The pool filter will be replaced.
  • The diving board will be replaced.
  • Portions of the deck will be retiled.

Renovations will begin August 22, 2011 and are expected to continue through November 2011. During this time, the swimming pool will be closed, but all other areas of Seatack Recreation Center will remain open for use. Seatack’s swim team will practice at Great Neck Recreation Center until Seatack’s pool reopens.

Details about the progress of the renovations will be posted to www.VBgov.com/swim. For more information about the project, contact Teri Dalone, Aquatic Unit Coordinator, at (757) 385-0449 or tdalone@VBgov.com.
