Virginia Beach Health Department to Host Two Free COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination Clinics

Monday, December 13, 2021

The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health will host a free COVID-19 and Flu vaccination clinic on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at New Light Baptist Church, 5549 Indian River Road, and on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 from 10 a.m. to noon at Kingdom Cathedral, 3820 Stoneshore Road.

All vaccines will be available, including boosters and Pfizer vaccines for ages 5-11.

Those 5-17 years old will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Adults over 18 years old will have the option of either the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Booster shots are now recommended for all individuals 16 years and older at 6 months or more after their initial series.

Booster shots are also recommended for those who got the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, are 18 and older, and were vaccinated two or more months ago.

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC's recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots however it is recommended you discuss mixing doses with your primary care physician.

All vaccines continue to be highly effective at reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization or death. Vaccination continues to be the best way to stop the spread of the virus.

Appointments are encouraged, however, walk-ins will be accepted. Visit the links below to schedule your appointment time for the COVID-19 vaccine. No appointment is necessary for the flu vaccine.
