Thursday, November 04, 2021

The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health will host a free COVID-19 and Flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 395 Old Great Neck Road.

Those 12-18 years old will be offered the Pfizer vaccine and will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Adults will have the option of either the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Vaccines for children 5-11 will not be available at Saturday's clinic.

For individuals who received a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:

Booster shots are also recommended for those who got the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, are 18 and older, and were vaccinated two or more months ago.

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC's recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots however, it is recommended you discuss mixing doses with your primary care physician.

All vaccines continue to be highly effective at reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, or death, even with the Delta variant. Vaccination continues to be the best way to stop the spread of the virus.

Appointments for Saturday are encouraged, however, walk-ins will be accepted. Visit the links below to schedule your appointment time.
