VBPD Arrests Suspect After Over-Night Shooting

​VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On June 10, 2021 at 1:10 a.m., Virginia Beach Emergency Communications (VBECCS) received a report that a person had been shot in the 200 block of 24th Street.  

Responding officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect, still on scene, was taken into custody. It was learned through preliminary investigation that the suspect was engaged in verbal altercations with a group of individuals after they left a local bar (Harpoon Larry's) and were walking towards the parking lot located in the 200 block of 24th Street. The suspect retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired it, striking the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a 22-year-old Jordan Michael Savage was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.  He is being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail.

This remains an active investigation.
