5th Update to the March 26 Shooting

VIRGNIA BEACH, Va. -- On April 13, 2021, Raswell Jahkee Steverson, M/22, was arrested and charged with four counts of malicious wounding, reckless handling of a firearm, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and violent felon in possession of a firearm.   

 

Mr. Steverson is the fourth suspect arrested following the March 26, 2021, Oceanfront shooting incident that occurred at 20th Street and Atlantic Avenue.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On March 28, 2021, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department's Special Investigations Bureau , with assistance from the Virginia State Police and the ATF,  executed three search warrants, two of the search warrants were served in the 100 block of Shoreview Court, and one in the 900 block of Atlantis Drive.

 

INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED:

 

35-year-old Gerald Scott Thomas II, of Virginia Beach,  has been charged with selling a firearm to a convicted felon, failure to perform a criminal history check prior to sale of a firearm, possession with the intent to distribute a schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and felon in possession of ammunition.

 

19-year-old Jhaimeek Kerion Carter, of Virginia Beach, has been charged with 3 counts of selling a firearm to a convicted felon, failure to perform a criminal history check prior to the sale of a firearm and possession with the intent to distribute a schedule I or II controlled substance.

 

18-year-old Tyereis Smith, of Virginia Beach, has been charged with 3 counts of selling a firearm to a convicted felon and failure to run a criminal history check prior to selling a firearm.
