Arrest Made - Mineola Drive Homicide

On February 5th, 2021 at 3:32 pm, Virginia Beach Emergency Communications received reports of gunfire being heard, and that a male had been shot in the 1000 block of Mineola Drive.

Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, suffering life-threatening injuries from apparent gunshot wounds. Virginia Beach EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Through their coordinated efforts, VBPD officers and investigators quickly obtained information and located evidence that led them to identify a potential suspect in this case. The suspect was located, and a search warrant was obtained and served at the suspects place of residence, which resulted in additional evidence being recovered.

The suspect,21-year-old Treshaun Lamont Snipes, was taken into custody just after midnight and charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Having a Concealed Weapon.  He is being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Keyon Turner of Virginia Beach.

The determination and meticulous efforts of the officers and investigators, as well as receiving valuable assistance from the community helped bring swift resolve to this case.
