*Update* Auto/Pedestrian Fatality accident -6000 block Indian River Road

The decedent has been identified as 32-year-old Amanda Delois Majett of Norfolk, Virginia.

On Monday, September 14, 2020 at 9:40 p.m., Emergency Communications received a call for a vehicle/pedestrian accident in the 6000 block of Indian River Road. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult female victim who had been struck by a vehicle. Emergency Medical Services also arrived on scene to assess the victim. The victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene. At this time the suspect vehicle is believed to be a silver or white sedan with possible damage on the driver’s side front headlight area of the vehicle. It was last seen driving in the Level Green neighborhood. Currently there is no other suspect information available. 

This case is still very active and the roadway in both directions in the 6000 block of Indian River Road is expected to be closed for the next several hours while they investigate this fatality crash. Police ask that you avoid this area. This release will be updated once the roadway is reopened. This case remains under this investigation by members of the FACT (Fatal Crash Team). No other information is available at this time.
