Monday, July 27, 2020

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA  (July 27, 2020) - The Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations (HRCVO) announced that it has canceled this year's Veterans Day parade, ceremony and luncheon due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Council decided that canceling this Nov. 11, 2020 event was in the best interest and safety of veterans and the Hampton Roads community. All 2020 Veterans Day plans will carry over to the Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021 program to be held at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront commencing at 9 a.m.

HRCVO sponsors the annual event, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3204 is the co-sponsor for 2021, with COL Al Tase, USMC (Ret.) as the Grand Marshal and PV2 Diane Eby, USAR (Ret.) as the Co-Marshal for 2021.

HRCVO requests citizens recognize and celebrate Veterans Day 2020 within their community with full compliance to medical regulations, and hold high honors and remembrance for all veterans, service members who died in the name of freedom, and those currently protecting us and our freedom.
