Oceanfront Shooting Leaves 3 Persons Injured

​On Tuesday, June 9th 2020 at approximately 11:58 pm, Virginia Beach Emergency Communications received a report that multiple gunshots had been fired in the vicinity of 17th Street and Atlantic Ave.

There was a large group of people near 17th Street and the Boardwalk as the shots were fired, and officers arrived on scene almost immediately. Two male victims, one adult and one teenaged juvenile, were located in the vicinity suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  They were both transported to local hospitals by EMS with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A third victim, an adult male, self transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

This case is actively being investigated.
