In response to offers from residents and businesses to donate supplies, the City now has a formal donations process to receive personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect our emergency responders and other frontline employees supporting the COVID-19 pandemic response.
Ideally, the PPE supplies should be commercial-grade and in original packaging. Items needed include, but are not limited to:
- Disinfecting cleaner approved for COVID use
- Eye protection (glasses and goggles)
- Fluid and droplet hair protection
- Hand sanitizer
- N95 Masks – large, medium, small, universal
- Nitrile Gloves – XL, large, medium, small
- Protective Gowns (prefer moisture barrier / level 3)
- Surgical mask with or without Fluid Shield Protection
- Surgical shoe covers
To donate, businesses and residents should complete this Donation Form instead of dropping items off with City agencies. Staff will review donations offered and arrange for drop-off or pick-up of the items.
The City of Virginia Beach is looking to set up an official donation reception center soon. More information will be shared as it is available.
