Wheeled-Sport Community Invited to Review Skate Park Design Concept for Woodstock Park

Monday, February 10, 2020

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation (VBPR), in partnership with HRSD, is hosting a meeting with the wheeled-sports community to review the design concept for the new skate park at Woodstock Park. The meeting is being held at the Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Admin Building (2154 Landstown Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456) on February 18 from 6-8 p.m. and those planning to attend can RSVP on the meeting Facebook event.

Members of the wheeled-sport community shared their ideas and feedback at a previous meeting held in November 2019 with skate park designers from Team Pain. The skate park replacement is part of the Woodstock Park Improvement Project, a public-private partnership between VBPR and HRSD. The project is bringing many exciting amenity upgrades to the heavily utilized community park, along with a 5.2 million gallon wet weather offline storage tank that will be housed below the brand new skate park facility. The project is scheduled to be completed in summer of 2021, weather and construction permitting.
