*Update* Armed Robbery Suspect in Custody after Short Vehicle Pursuit

*Update*

58-year-old Craig Fenton Will , of Virginia Beach, was arrested and charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, wearing a mask in public and eluding police. He is being held at the Virginia​ Beach Correctional Center.

​On January 8th 2020 at approximately 12:26 am, Virginia Beach Emergency Communications received​ a report of an armed robbery at the 7-11 located at 4660 Princess Anne Road.

An officer arriving on scene observed the suspect vehicle, and initiated a pursuit.  Attempts were made to stop the vehicle by utilizing "spikes", however, the suspect vehicle continued to flee until it reached the 4900 block of Century Drive, where the suspect ran into a residence. 

Within a short time, officers observed the suspect emerge back outside. A brief struggle ensued as officers attempted to place him into custody. One officer sustained minor injuries during these events and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

There were no injuries to anyone at the 7-11.

The adult male suspect was transported to Police Headquarters. Charges are pending.

This investigation is still very active. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
