Wheeled-Sport Community Invited to Design Workshop for Woodstock Skate Park on November 19

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation, in partnership with HRSD, is hosting the first of two design workshops focused on the new skate park being built at Woodstock Park. Members of the wheeled-sport community are invited to come and share their ideas with renowned skate park designers from Team Pain. The workshop is being held at the Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Admin Building (2154 Landstown Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456) on November 19 from 6-8 p.m. Those who are unable to attend are welcome to submit feedback online.

The skate park replacement is part of the Woodstock Park Improvement Project, a public-private partnership between Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and HRSD. The project is bringing exciting changes to the heavily utilized community park, including many upgraded amenities and a 5.2 million gallon wet weather offline storage tank that will be housed below the brand new skate park facility. The project is scheduled to be completed in summer of 2021, weather and construction permitting.

A second skate park design meeting will be held in winter 2020 to discuss proposed design concepts that come out of the November 19 workshop.
