Virginia Beach Police Department, SPCA, & PETA Team Up For Bayside Animal Health & Wellness Event

Wednesday, December 07, 2011

Agencies are coming together to offer free and low-cost vaccines, spay/neuter, micro chipping, straw bedding and more.

The Virginia Beach Animal Control Enforcement Team invites you to attend a Pet Health and Wellness event being hosted by the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VBSPCA) and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Join us next Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 1p.m. until 4p.m. at the Newpointe Shopping Center at the intersection of Newtown Road and Baker Road in Virginia Beach.

Now is the season, not just for holiday shopping, but also for ensuring your pet has up to date rabies vaccine and the best care possible. Representatives from the VBSPCA will be on hand to offer reduced cost vaccines. A limited number of spay/neuter appointments are available at PETA’s clinic.  Citizens are encouraged to call 962-8227 to schedule an appointment.  Overflow appointments will be scheduled for other dates. PETA representatives will also be giving away straw bedding and discussing with citizens options for assistance with outside shelters.

Animal Control Officers will be on hand to answer questions and offer support to pet owners.  We hope to see you there!
