Re-Entry Council Employment Education Fair to be Held Oct. 17

The Virginia Beach Re-Entry Council is hosting its fifth Employment Education Fair on Oct. 17, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Department of Human Services, 3432 Virginia Beach Blvd.

The mission of the Virginia Beach Re-entry Council is to assist adult and juvenile returning citizens through a collaborative-supported partnership of private, public, nonprofit and faith-based agencies with resources to educate about and provide assistance to overcoming reentry obstacles.

Cosponsored by the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office, the fair is designed to provide employment opportunities for those who may be having difficulty securing a job. There will be 25 vendors consisting of service employers as well as those that can provide employment with advancement potential for a lifelong career. Vendors will also be available to assist with educational opportunities, updating resumes and interviewing.

Applicants should dress for success (and comfort), and it is recommended that you have a resume, but it is not required. Employers have a preference for candidates that are courteous, friendly and confident. Computer access will be provided to apply for any positions online, on the spot.  On-site applications will also be accepted.
