*Update* Gunshot Wound 1500 block Bunsen Dr

​*Update*

Investigators determined that the suspect, 65-year-old Henry Frank Herbig assaulted one of the victims, then entered the residence and began assaulting the second victim. The first victim retrieved a firearm and shot the suspect in self defense. 

The suspect and victims are known to each other.

Investigators reviewed this case with the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney, and No charges will be sought against the victim who shot the suspect.

65-year-old Henry Frank Herbig​ of Pace, Florida​ has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and breaking & entering with the intent to commit a felony. 


On September 8th at 9:47 p.m. police received a call for a gunshot would in the 1500 block of Bunsen Dr.  

On arrival responding units located two adult female victims suffering from blunt force trauma injuries and an adult  male suspect suffering from a gunshot wound.  

All three individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment.  One female victim was transported with non-life threatening injuries.  The other female victim and the male suspect were transported with serious injuries.  

The victims and the suspect were known to each other.

The case remains under investigation with Detective A. Russell assigned as the lead investigator.​
