Thursday, August 08, 2019

Community members who have an interest in the Lynnhaven River Reef Habitat Restoration efforts are invited to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center Building 19, 2416 Courthouse Drive.

The meeting will be an informal open house. Residents are welcome to drop in at any time during the meeting to view informational displays and speak with project leaders. Staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the City of Virginia Beach will be available to answer questions.

The project is a cost participation between the USACE and the City of Virginia Beach to help restore wetland, submerged aquatic vegetation, and reef habitat within the Lynnhaven River and will be constructed in several phases over the coming years.

Attend the meeting to learn more about the Phase 1 Reef Habitat Site located in the Lynnhaven River between Keeling Cove and Dix Creek.
