Male barricaded in residence 400 Block of Becton Place

This situation was resolved at 12:26 am with the person exiting the house without incident. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.  This is still an active investigation.


On Monday, July 8, 2019 at approximately 8:37 p.m., Emergency Communications received a call for a domestic case in the 400 block of Becton Place. Officers arrived on scene making contact with the residents at this location. During the investigation, an adult male with access to weapons in the house refused exit the residence or to further communicate with police. Members of the VBPD SWAT team are assisting​ with this case. At this time, the adult male is the only occupant inside the household. Officers on scene are continuing efforts to communicate with the male who is still inside the residence. This is still an active case and police ask you to avoid this area. This case remains under investigation by officers assigned to the 3rd Precinct. No other information is available at this time. This release will be updated as soon as information becomes available.
