*Update* Single Vehicle Crash 200 S. Parliament

*2nd Update

After screening this case with the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney, an additional charge of Involuntary Manslaughter was obtained and served on the driver of the vehicle, Austin John Foley. He is currently being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail.​


The preliminary investigation has revealed that all three occupants of the truck were not utilizing seatbelts when the crash occurred, and were ejected from the vehicle as it overturned. The truck came to rest after striking a residence in the 200 block of S. Parliament​ Drive

A teenaged juvenile passenger of the truck succumbed to her injuries later a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, 18 year-old Austin John Foley of Virginia Beach was cited for Reckless Driving as well as additional traffic offenses.

On Monday, June 24, 2019 at approximately 6:12 p.m. Virginia Beach Emergency Communications received a call about a single vehicle crash at the 200 block of  S. Parliament Drive. 

When officers arrived they discovered an overturned vehicle that collided into a home.  All passengers in the vehicle are being transported to the hospital with very serious injuries. One passenger with life threatening injuries. 

Initial investigations show that speed may have been a factor. The 200 block of S. Parliament will be closed for at least two hours.
