Red Wing Dog Park Gets Facelift

New design includes benches, shade structure and water source for dogs

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

The newly renovated dog park at Red Wing Park, located at 1398 General Booth Blvd. in Virginia Beach, is now open to the public. The new design and park placement boasts approximately 200’ x 100’ of usable open space along with new benches for pet owners, a shade structure, and a water source for dogs. Dog clean-up bags are also included in the design of this renovated amenity to Red Wing Park.

Individuals are required to register their dog at the park office with proof of dated rabies vaccination and City of Virginia Beach pet license. Parvo vaccination is strongly recommended. Current annual registration for one dog costs $15, and $10 for each consecutive dog will be honored at the new dog park. The former area where the original dog park at Red Wing Park was located is now closed.
