Learn to Swim Lessons Included in Tuition Fees Starting in September

Friday, June 07, 2019

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation (VBPR) firmly believes that learning to swim is one of the greatest skills you can teach a child. As a new addition to the licensed Early Childhood Program, the department is offering a pilot program to include free swim lessons with the cost of tuition at its Princess Anne Recreation Center location. Lessons will begin with the start of the new school year in September and run through February. Having an onsite, indoor pool makes this exclusive new activity extremely unique to the area for programs of its kind.

VBPR's Early Childhood Programs that include preschool, pre-K and Kinderbuddies, encourage creativity and independence while developing literacy, language, problem-solving, reasoning, and gross and fine motor skills in a safe environment. A recreation center membership is also included with the cost of registration which provides access to all seven recreation centers year-round to foster a love a movement and healthy physical activity in these formative years. Early Childhood Programs are available at the Princess Anne, Williams Farm, Bow Creek, and Kempsville recreation centers.

Registration for the 2019/2020 school year programs begins tomorrow, June 8. More information on early childhood and other VBPR Out-of-School Time Programs can be found at VBgov.com/childcare
