We Want Your Help...So We Can Help You! Seeking Input For Our New Mission Statement

Tuesday, May 14, 2019

For the last twenty years, the men and women of the Virginia Beach Police Department have been guided by a mission statement which has helped to create a safe community, improve the quality of life for all of our citizens, and form lasting community partnerships that have reduced crime and the fear of crime.  Our officers, past and present, take great pride in all that we have accomplished - together.

Now, we would like to call on our community partners to assist in the creation of a new mission statement.  Drawing on 21st Century policing principles, we recognize the importance of maintaining an organization which is representative of our community and its values.  In this regard, a new mission statement will help guide our officers for decades to come, and pave the way for increased collaboration and engagement with our citizens.

To assist, please visit https://publicinput.com/4196 to participate in a short survey which will remain open through May 31, 2019.  Your input will be utilized by our internal workgroup to craft a new mission statement in the months ahead.  We appreciate your willingness to be a part of this unique opportunity for collaboration.
