Virginia Beach Convention Center April Events Sneak Peek

Friday, March 29, 2019

In the U.S., April can bring to mind a usually gloomy subject: taxes. Yes, Virginia Beach, it's almost here – Tax Day 2019. Rather than dwell on the looming filing deadline, give yourself a break and visit the Convention Center for one or more of their April public events. Between cheer and dance finals, a gymnastic competition and several other events, there's more than enough activity to help take your mind off taxes. You might even sneak in a bit of tension relief as you support our visiting athletes – no one will have a clue why you sound a bit louder than usual! Here's a quick look at a few events happening this month:

April 6 – 7: THE ONE Cheer and Dance Finals – A unique, end-of-season event offered to exceptional cheer and dance teams, THE ONE returns to our coastal city. As the East Division battles it out, competition teams in divisions ranging from All-Star to Recreation will take to the floor for two exciting days where THE ONE in each division will take the crown! This is a spectator ticketed event; toddlers ages four and younger are free.

April 11 – 14: 2019 USA Gymnastics Regional 7 Level 9/10 Regionals – Hosted by local gym Ocean Tumblers, this four-day event features advanced gymnasts who have qualified to attend this regional championship meet. Competitions include floor, beam, bars and vault. One- and two-day spectator passes will be available for sale. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free.

April 19 – 20:  2019 Southeastern Guns & Knives Show (SGK) – SGK is an organized event that promotes understanding the sports of shooting, appreciation of American history and an opportunity to view historic and contemporary weapons. SGK patrons attend the shows as collectors, hobbyists, sportsmen and hunters as well as those who are interested in home defense. This is a ticketed event and children 14 and under are free with a guardian.
