On Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10:21 a.m., a uniformed officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and S. Independence Boulevard for displaying license plates that did not belong to the car.  The operator of the vehicle fled on foot and a short foot pursuit ensured across the lanes of Independence Boulevard.  As the officer reached the subject, a second man appeared on a motorcycle, assaulted the officer, and brandished a firearm while giving commands to the officer.  The operator of the car jumped onto the motorcycle, and both men fled the scene at a high rate of speed.  As other officers were responding to the foot pursuit, the suspect motorcycle passed incoming units.  Those units followed the motorcycle to the area of Scarborough Square.  Officers determined the residence and set up a perimeter.  At approximately 12:30 p.m., one subject exited the residence and surrendered without incident.  At approximately 2:00 p.m., a second subject exited the residence and surrendered without incident.

Suspect information and charges to follow once it becomes available.   This remains an active investigation.
