Two Lanes of Virginia Beach Boulevard to be Closed for Sewer Repair

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Starting tonight, Tidewater Utility Construction Inc., under contract with the Department of Public Utilities, will begin the final phase of a two-phase project to replace sanitary sewer lines on Virginia Beach Boulevard, between Yorktown Avenue and Eureka Avenue.  This work is necessary to ensure that the sanitary sewer system continues to meet local, state and federal requirements.

Repairs will take place daily, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. During this time, the two right eastbound lanes of Virginia Beach Boulevard, between Mustang Trail and Eureka Avenue, will be closed.  Warning signs will be posted advising motorists of the lane closures in place.

Repairs are expected to be completed by Dec. 2, weather permitting.  For more information, contact Rey DeVera with Virginia Beach Public Utilities at (757) 385-4091.
