Nominations Now Open for 2019 Travel & Tourism Awards

​The economic impact of tourism in Virginia Beach is undeniable: $2.45 billion in direct travel-related expenditures, $132 million in state and local tax revenue and 13,650 jobs which create a workforce of dedicated hospitality professionals who host millions of visitors, and they deserve thanks.

The Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announces that nominations are now open for the 2019 Virginia Beach Travel & Tourism Awards. More than 30 awards - complete with bragging rights - are up for grabs. Nominate your industry superstars TODAY by visiting Submission deadline is March 1, 2019.

Hosted by the CVB and our industry partners, the awards program will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on May 8, 2019 in conjunction with National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW). This year's national theme is "Travel Matters."

Established in 1983 by a congressional resolution, NTTW is dedicated to highlighting the power of travel by recognizing the millions of people nationwide who work to keep the hospitality industry going strong. In Virginia Beach, the hospitality industry employs a prosperous and diverse workforce, from corporate level to restaurant, attraction and retail staff and supports related sectors such as construction, manufacturing, finance, and real estate, to name just a few.
