Bank Robbery Investigation on Kempsville Road

On December 31, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Emergency Communications received a call of a bank robbery in progress at the BB&T Bank in the 1400 block of Kempsville Road.  The suspect fled on foot before Police personnel arrived on scene. There were no injuries involved in this incident. Police personnel conducted a search of the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the suspect.  


The suspect is described as an adult white male, around 6’1”, thin build and wearing a black leather jacket and one glove.

The Virginia Beach Police Department - Detective Bureau - Robbery Unit are actively investigating this incident.
