Public Utilities Warns Customers of Possible Utility Scam

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Dec. 21, 2018)  —  Virginia Beach Public Utilities is asking residents to be cautious if someone comes to their door claiming to represent the city. A resident of the Windsor Gate section of Virginia Beach recently reported an individual claiming to be from a company performing water meter work on behalf of Virginia Beach Public Utilities. The person said they would need to enter the resident's home. Virginia Beach Public Utilities employees will never request to enter a residence, ask for personal or account information, or request any type of payment.
