Seeking Nominations: 2019 Virginia Beach Champion for the Arts, Deadline March 1, 2019

​The Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission is accepting nominations for the City's 2019 Champion for the Arts award. This award is presented annually to a person who has made an important difference to the Virginia Beach cultural community in a volunteer capacity. Each year the Commission recognizes a Champion's impact on our city's vibrant cultural and arts community through volunteer and/or financial contributions. Previous Champion for the Arts recipients are Barbara Lewis, Tom and Juanita Felton, and Barbara and Andrew Fine.

ABOUT THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH'S OFFICE OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS:
The role of the Office of Cultural Affairs is to develop the vision and direction of the cultural arts in Virginia Beach, assist and direct the Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission, coordinate the city's Public Art Program, provide contract management for the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, serve as the liaison with Virginia MOCA and the ViBe Creative District, and serve as a resource to local arts and humanities organizations.
