Third Annual Public Meeting on Historic Preservation in Virginia Beach

The City of Virginia Beach Historic Preservation Commission invites interested residents to attend its Third Annual Public Meeting where citizens are asked to provide input on issues and events involving historic preservation in the City of Virginia Beach. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library on Monday, November 28, 2011.


This year’s meeting will include remarks by Kathleen Kilpatrick, Director of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Historic Resources, as well as two optional workshops on obtaining tax credits for historical properties and on applying for listing on the state and national historic registers.


A detailed agenda for this meeting and a listing of the current items under consideration by the Commission accompanies this announcement. Attendees should come prepared to voice their views on the community’s priorities for preservation of historic buildings, structures and sites in the city.
