Updated -Arrest made in Hit & Run case

UPDATE: October 6, 2018

An arrest has been made in this case. Investigation efforts have led police to the identification of the Hit & Run suspect. 

Arrested is Alexis Jade Rummel, 29, of Virginia Beach. She was charged with Felony Hit & Run.

On Sunday, September 23rd 2018 at approximately 10:47am a woman was jogging on Carolina Ave near Mediterranean Ave when she was struck by a vehicle.

A passerby saw the woman on the ground and stopped to assist.  EMS was called to the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital with multiple injuries.

The suspect vehicle is a dark colored SUV and was seen in the area of Norfolk  Avenue.

Virginia Beach Police are seeking assistance in identifying the owner of this vehicle and are asking anyone with information to  please contact  Detective Spreder at (757) 385-2760.
