Rosemont Strategic Growth Area Plan Drafted; City Invites Input on Phase Three – Deciding the Future

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

The public is invited to a meeting on Tuesday, May 24 for the third and final phase of shaping the future of the Rosemont Strategic Growth Area (SGA).  A draft long-range plan for the Rosemont SGA will be presented and the city wants to hear from you.

The meeting will be 6:30 p.m. at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd.

The city’s Comprehensive Plan designates eight SGAs to accommodate and absorb the city’s future urban growth.  Beginning in February, the city held the first round of public meetings for input on the Rosemont SGA Plan.  These meetings, facilitated by Urban Design Associates, resulted in a list of draft design principles.  In March, public meetings were held to refine these principles and to obtain more specific public input.  The result is a proposed vision for the Rosemont SGA.

Please join us for this important opportunity to continue giving us your input.
