First in the Sea Level Rise Summer Symposium Series, “High Winds & Rising Water,” to Be Held July 25

Kurt McCoy, a hydrologist for the U.S. Geological Survey, and William Sammler, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, will discuss what citizens and business owners can expect from increased storm frequency, wind tides and sea level rise. The event will be held Wed., July 25 from 6-8 p.m. in the 2nd floor theater of the Advanced Technology Center at the Tidewater Community College Virginia Beach Campus (1800 College Crescent).

This is the first in a Sea Level Rise Summer Symposium series. Other topics will cover:

  • Aquatic and Terrestrial Vegetation
  • Environmentally Conscious Flood Protection
  • Stewards of the Southern Rivers Watershed
