Major City Chiefs' Association Release Firearms Violence Policy

Chief James Cervera of the Virginia Beach Police Department is a current Board Member of the Major City Chiefs’ Association (MCCA) – a professional association of Chiefs and Sheriffs representing the largest cities in the United States and Canada. The Chief recently returned from an MCCA meeting in Nashville, TN where the various chiefs and sheriffs discussed a myriad of issues and challenges related to law enforcement and public safety around the nation.  Among the discussed were a number of policy initiatives, one of which included the attached Firearms Violence Policy, which was endorsed by the MCCA and which Chief Cervera fully supports​.
