Stabbing - 300 Block 26th Street

On Friday, April 13, 2018, at approximately 1:17 a.m., Emergency Communications received a Suspicious call for service in the 300 block of 26th Street.  A citizen reported hearing a woman screaming for help, saying she has been stabbed.  Officers arrived and found an adult female suffering from a stabbing.  They immediately rendered emergency medical assistance to her.  She was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.  As the officers were tending to the victim, the suspect, an adult male, had barricaded himself inside the apartment and that the apartment was on fire.  Surrounding apartments were evacuated as the Virginia Beach Fire Department quickly went it to action to stop the fire.  The suspect jumped from a two-story window and was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to a local hospital for injuries he incurred from the jump.  The victim and suspect are known to each other.​​

Warrants have been obtained for Eric Keith Bowen, 47, of the 300 block of 26th Street, VB for the charges of Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Burning or Destroying a Dwelling.
