Registration Now Open for 2018 Travel & Tourism Awards Luncheon

Tuesday, April 03, 2018

Registration is open for the 2018 Virginia Beach Travel & Tourism Awards luncheon to be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on May 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in conjunction with U.S. Travel Association's National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) national promotion.

Tourism is big business. In Virginia Beach, the economic impact of tourism is undeniable: $1.49 billion in direct travel-related expenditures, $132.1 million in state and local tax revenue, and $278 million in salaries¹. Those salaries are earned by a workforce of dedicated hospitality professionals who host millions of visitors each year.

Established by a congressional resolution in 1983, NTTW is dedicated to highlighting the power of travel by recognizing the millions of people nationwide who help keep the hospitality industry going strong. This year's theme is "Travel Then and Now" and will shine a spotlight on the people – on the frontlines and behind the scenes – who are the driving force of the hospitality industry. In Virginia Beach, the spotlight will focus on the "best of the best" of our diverse hospitality workforce during the awards luncheon, where winners of more than 30 individual hospitality industry awards will be announced.

Registration is available online through April 25 at www.vbgov.com/NTTW. Tickets are $15 dollars each. Tickets will not be available day of event.
