On Friday, March 23, 2018 at approximately 5:15 pm, a citizen witnessed a white female carrying a cardboard box down Old Great Neck Road near Poyner Lane.  The woman was seen placing the box under some shrubbery at the edge of Poyner Lane and then walked away.  The witness discovered a black cat inside of the box and immediately brought the cat to Animal Control seeking assistance for the animal.

Upon evaluation the cat appeared to be in very poor condition, possibly suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection along with other ailments.  To prevent further suffering a decision was made to humanely euthanize the cat.

The cat was a black domestic medium haired male between the ages of 6 months to 1 year old.
