Bank On Virginia Beach is part of the Mayor's Action Challenge established by Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr. in 2011 to inspire citizens to take positive action to improve their financial fitness.  Graduates of this program receive mayoral recognition for demonstrated improvements in income, savings, debt reduction and improvements to credit score.

Coordinated through the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, Bank On Virginia Beach is a partnership of participating banks, credit unions, and community organizations designed to connect unbanked and under-banked families to free or low cost bank accounts and other resources leading to financial freedom.
