Here's a sneak peek at a few of the events coming up this month:

Start March off with a bang at the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad's 42nd Annual Oyster Roast. Beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, this event is the squad's signature fundraiser of the year. Enjoy local craft beer, barbeque and sides and, of course, all-you-can-eat oysters – roasted, raw and fried. Ticket sales support the squad's mission of providing citizens and visitors with free, pre-hospital emergency medical care. This is a ticketed event. Free parking.

Locals and visitors alike look forward to the Treasures of the Earth Gem & Jewelry Show (March 9-11).  This unique show features estate, classic, handcrafted and fashion jewelry made from a variety of metals, as well as a vast array of crystals, minerals and fossils. Jewelers and wire wrappers will be on site that can design, remount or repair jewelry. In addition, there will be a gemologist present to do appraisals while you wait. Free admission and parking. Doors open at noon on Friday, and 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Cheer and Dance Extreme is excited to once again host The Grand - National Championship By The Sea competition over the weekend of March 10-11. Cheer and dance teams from up and down the East Coast compete to see who will be crowned Cheer and Dance Extreme's National Champion. Ticketed event; free parking.

You've trained all year and now it's almost here – the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend (March 16-18). Celebrate your race and the "Luck of the Irish" with 25,000 runners from all 50 states and around the world.  Lace up your sneakers, adorn yourself in green and conquer the streets of Virginia Beach. You'll enjoy flat, fast and scenic courses along the beautiful oceanfront and recover at a huge finish line celebration that features live entertainment, ice-cold Yuengling beer and much more. Spectators are encouraged to watch the fun and cheer the racers on from the sidelines along the route.

The Hampton Roads Business Hall of Fame (Thursday, March 22) is the area's marquee business awards event. Each year, this elegant evening honors the lifetime achievements of the area's most visionary business leaders. The night features a VIP reception, black-tie dinner and ceremony, as well as an opportunity to support Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads, whose mission is to inspire the next generation of business heroes. This year, the honorees are Birdsong Peanuts CEO and General Counsel George Y. Birdsong; Hampton Roads Community Foundation President and CEO Deborah M. DiCroce, William and Mary President W. Taylor Reveley III and Dollar Tree Inc. Executive Chairman Bob Sasser. This is a ticketed event.

If you're a member of a regional or national group or association which holds membership meetings, the VBCC is equipped to accommodate groups of various sizes and needs.
