From boats and outdoor design ideas to coins and brides-to-be, the Virginia Beach Convention Center (VBCC) is the place to be in February. After a jump start to 2018 with a busy January, more than 25 events will draw upwards of 32,000 guests to the Center during the month of February. For the full event schedule and more information, visit the VBCC's website at www.visitvirginiabeach.com/conventioncenter. Can't wait? Here's a quick a look at just a few of the public events you won't want to miss:

If you've been thinking of buying a boat or upgrading what you currently have, plan on attending the 65th Annual Mid-Atlantic Sports & Boat Show beginning at noon on Friday, Feb. 9 and daily running through Sunday at 5 p.m. All the big dealers will be under one roof, ready to show you their stock and make a deal. Whether you want to see the latest and greatest 2018 models or want a great deal on an unused 2017, you don't want to miss this chance to check them all out in one convenient place. The Center is handicapped accessible, there will be food on-site for purchase, and children 12 and under are welcome with free admission. Adult admission is $10 and on-site parking is free.

While checking out the boats, stop by the Mid-Atlantic Leisure Expo sponsored by East Coast Leisure, who has brought together the best suppliers of outdoor living pieces to guarantee you the best quality and best year-end closeout sales and deals available. Stop dreaming and make your backyard wishes a reality. Doors open at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 and the show runs daily through Sunday at 4 p.m. Free admission and parking.

Is it a plane hangar or a ballroom? You'll have to see it to believe it! The Military Aviation Museum invites you to attend its annual 1940s Valentine's Hangar Dance on Saturday, Feb. 10 in the Convention Center Ballroom. If your wardrobe doesn't extend as far back as 1949, get creative or rent a period costume but just don't miss this fun evening. Dinner and dance begins at 6 p.m. New this year: Dance-only tickets will be available for an 8 p.m. start.

Did you know the study of currency, including coins, is called numismatics? If coin collecting or the study of currency is your passion, you'll be in your element at the 2018 Virginia Beach Coin Show sponsored by the Tidewater Coin Club. Enjoy a day of fun activities for all ages and giveaways for kids.
