Five Pets Rescued From Mobile Home Fire

Monday, January 22, 2018

Virginia Beach firefighters rescued one dog and one cat from a fire inside a mobile home at Colony Trailer Park in the 900 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard.  Three other dogs from the mobile home were already outside when firefighters arrived on the scene a little after 1:30 this afternoon.  Although heavy smoke was seen coming from the trailer when the first units arrived within about four minutes of getting the call, the fire was under control in abut 20-minutes and declared out at 1:56.

Two men who entered the mobile home to rescue the pets before firefighters arrived, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor smoke inhalation.  Both are expected to be alright.  The fire was limited to the kitchen area of the mobile home and the exact cause is under investigation.
