"Atlantic Shores' Dancing with the Seniors" - Put on your boogie shoes and head down to the Sandler Center

(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) – The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts announces the 2018 Season of "Atlantic Shores' Dancing with the Seniors" program.  New this year, an Open House to kick off the season Jan. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This Open House will give participants the opportunity to interact with some of the sponsors who help put on this yearly event. 

"Atlantic Shores' Dancing with the Seniors" is a bi-weekly dance series that will spans from Jan. 29. through May 7., 2018. This year's program will feature two classes on Mondays: one from 10:30 a.m. until noon and the second from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Complimentary coffee will be served in between classes, courtesy of Arange.

The series is sponsored by Atlantic Shores, Sandler Center Foundation, Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia and Arange. Dancing with the Seniors is a free bi-weekly dance class for seniors 55+.  The program is led by Marquita Bianca, one of Hampton Roads' most renowned dance instructors and owner of BailaFuzion Dance Company in Virginia Beach. Participants in the program will learn ballroom, Latin, cultural, line dances, and more throughout the eight instructional sessions.

The series will conclude with a "Senior Prom" on May 21 to allow participants the opportunity to demonstrate their newly developed dancing dexterity.

The Sandler Center's Education and Outreach Program has been designed to provide unique opportunities for Hampton Roads seniors to interact and learn about the arts.
