On December 13, 2017 at 2:36 a.m., an officer was flagged down by a citizen in the 4800 block of Shore Drive, who stated they had just been assaulted and robbed by a person who was armed with a gun.  The suspect had fled the area on foot.

The officer obtained the suspect's description and his last known direction of travel as additional officers converged in the area to search for him.  During this search, a K9 officer located the juvenile suspect in the 4700 block of Price Circle and was able to place him into custody without incident.  The victim of the robbery/assault suffered minor injuries who was cared for on scene by Virginia Beach EMS.

Meanwhile, at 2:47 a.m. Virginia Beach Emergency Communications received a call for a domestic in the 4700 block of Victory Road.  Officers responded and located a male juvenile in the front of the residence who became uncooperative.  As officers were attempting to detain him, a struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed one of the officers with a knife.  Other officers on scene immediately rendered first aid to the injured officer, as the juvenile suspect was placed into custody without further incident.

The injured officer was transported to a local hospital by Virginia Beach EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
