See into the Future…of Parks & Recreation

Strategic planning public input meeting to be held Nov. 30

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is focused on the future and wants citizen input as part of its strategic process. Residents are invited to a special public input meeting to discuss a long-range strategy that will meet citizen's needs for recreational facilities and programming. The forum is being held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center (room 3C) on November 30, from 6 - 7 p.m. Childcare will be available at no cost for children ages 3 to 12.

As the focus of the meeting, the department is seeking specific feedback on four questions that emerged from a recent community survey:

1. What new core programs should Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation consider?

2. What types of community special events appeal to you?

3. How do you use trails? Do you prefer paved or unpaved?

4. What would you like Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation to be known for?

For those unable to attend the meeting, an online questionnaire is available online.
