UPDATE *Armed Robber Hides in Victims Car - Suspect Identified!

Through assistance from the community in identifying the suspect, an arrest has been made in this case.

The suspect has been identified as 39-year-old Charles Michael Kleber of Chesapeake, VA and he has been charged with robbery, entering or setting in motion a vehicle, solicitation to commit a misdemeanor and revocation of suspended sentence.

On October 14th, 2017 there was an armed robbery of a citizen in the parking lot of the Lynnhaven Shopping Center located at 1505 Lynnhaven​​ Parkway.

The victim's vehicle was parked, and unlocked in the shopping center lot.  The suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and hid in the rear seat until the victim returned from shopping.  When the victim got back into her vehicle, the suspect displayed a knife and demanded the victim's purse.

The suspect took the purse and fled on foot.  The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, early to mid-20's, 5'9-5'11, approximately 150 pounds.  He had a light beard or goatee and was wearing blue jeans and a light blue horizontally striped polo shirt.

The Virginia Beach Robbery Detectives are seeking information to help identify this suspect.                      ​
