UPDATE - City Begins “Damaged Tree and Broken Limb” Program

The City has begun efforts to address damaged trees and broken limbs that have resulted from Hurricane Irene’s impact only.  Crews will only address trees that pose a threat to the public right-of-way and qualify for work under current FEMA guidelines.

 

Waste Management’s goal is to pick up the trimmings and debris by the following day, but no longer than the next regular collection day.

 

Work will be completed within the public rights-of-way only, and is expected to continue for at least 45 days.

 

Residents can report right of way damaged trees or broken limbs by calling Parks & Recreation/ Landscape Management Division’s Customer Support Center at (757) 385-4461.

 

Anyone with questions or needing additional information about collecting the debris should contact Waste Management at (757) 385-4650.
